These presentations are the property of NEED and it is important that that ownership is respected. The intention is that they are available for NEED originated presentations only. Small exerpts or pieces may be used for other presentations, but we are relying on your respect for the presentation's authors to limit their use outside of NEED presentations. The list below reflects topics that are complete or are currently in process. Those presentations that are complete are available for use. Those that are in process are included here to make them available for comment by members of the NEED community. To faciliate this collaboration, there is a chat room that has been created for each presentation. |
A Note to Presenters It is not intended that the presentations below necessarily be used in their entirety. Presentation circumstances will vary. Some will be 20 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour. The presentations here are intended to provide a resource of slides to use in developing the presentation that you will ultimately give. What is most important is that the presentation that you assemble maintain the nonpartisan nature of the material available here. We also acknowledge that it might be appropriate to combine content from multiple presentations. This is a fine use of the presentations, but we strongly urge you to stick to the original script (narrative) for the relevant slides from each NEED slide deck. With Regard to Opinions It is inevitable that you will be asked questions about the topic that are not covered in the stock NEED slide deck. When that happens, we request that you a) put the question in the discussion of the topic so that we can address it in the slide deck and b) when the question is asked, please state that you are expressing your opinion. There will also occasions during a presentation when it seems reasonable to add your opinion to the discussion. Please state that you are expressing your opinion and not that of NEED, particularly if the opinion may be controversial from a liberal or conservative perspective. Expressing your opinion is inevitable and we respect that, but please try to keep controversial opinions to a minimum. |
